I'm Allison Czarnecki, editor of Petit Elefant, a popular blog about fashion, travel, home & garden. I live in Utah Valley where I work from home while I keep watch over my two school aged children, one boy, one girl, and am married to a guy from Warsaw, Poland who is the love of my life. I love everything style related, especially deep-discount and thrifted fashion found off the beaten track, and consider it my life's ambition to rid the world of "mom jeans".

Utah Style

Sephora comes to Utah.

Yes, all those rumors were true.  All the waiting with bated breath, the wishing and hoping, it was all worth it:  Sephora, a “beauty, skin care, makeup, hair, and fragrance” store finally opened a store in Utah County, and we will all be more beautiful for it.

I attended the grand opening with a girlfriend of mine, so we could witness firsthand the inauguration of this marvelous moment.  It was everything we thought it might be, and more.  If you’ve never been to a Sephora store, happiness awaits you at the Provo Town Centre inside JC Penney.  There’s no other way for me to describe Sephora except to say: it’s like a playground for women.  Makeup of every kind, color, and shape line all the walls in the store.  More name brand makeup than you can shake a stick at, all in one place for you to play with!  At the end of every makeup row there are mirrors, tissues, makeup remover, sample sized mascara wands, and eyeshadow brushes all to make sure you can find the color and style of makeup you need.

The store was swarming with makeup ladies eager to help me find a good color for my eyes, or just the right nail polish, and while it sometimes felt like a little much, these women are your Yoda’s of the makeup world.  Let them lead you around the store until you find something you’re happy with.  You don’t want to spend $12 on eyeliner and not feel happy about it; but with a little guidance from the women at Sephora, you won’t ever regret buying the sparkling purple eyeliner.  I don’t, and I did.

I've never heard of Sephora – probably because I've been playing on the “cupcake playgrounds”… but you sold me with the sparkling purple eyeliner! That's it! I'm checking it out this weekend. Happy Easter to me :)

You could work for them–because you made me want to go there too. Sounds like the place I didn't know I was waiting for.

  5. Cupcake playgrounds? Ha! The purple sparkle is so adorable, I wore it today! You have to check it out, and then report to me.

  6. I'll meet you there. We'll do lunch and Sephora, and talk vampire gossip!

  7. It's really fabulous, and way bigger than I thought it would be for a makeup store inside a mall. You'll love it. Seriously, nothing not to love.

  8. Oh, wouldn't that be fun?! I would get to play on the makeup playground every day. That could lead to serious financial trouble.
