Demand all the fitness you want with ExerciseTV
We have a treadmill in our home and unlike most treadmills, this one isn’t used solely for drying clothes or as an extra storage area for boxes of Christmas decorations. I use—and love—our treadmill, or should I say “used” and “loved.” I walked/ran/hiked uphill on that baby so much I wore out the motor and caused it to blow a fuse every time I started it. Now that’s dedication!
The problem is that treadmill was my go-to form of exercise whenever I couldn’t make it to the gym early. (Who am I kidding? I NEVER make it to the gym early.) Or I went through a phase of being too cheap to pay the $1.25 for the gym’s daycare. It was also the perfect option during cold winter months when my little ones had just enough green snot to keep them from being allowed through those daycare doors. When it stopped working I couldn’t bare popping in any of my fitness DVDs. (I’d already memorized every bead of sweat on Billy Blanks‘ forehead.) So what was a mom of two little ones and no double stroller to do?
The answer? Turn on cable, hit the On Demand button, select Sports & Fitness and discover ExerciseTV. Okay, I didn’t discover it; a good friend enlightened me, but that’s beside the point. What I saw made me feel like a kid in a candy store stocked with all kinds of chocolate delights—and all free!
I found everything from Billy Blanks (been there, done that) and Jillian Michaels to Kim Kardashian and my new fave, Jackie Warner, all ready to kick my butt and the rest of my body into gear. I scrolled through dance workouts, kick boxing, pilates, strength training, walking and yoga. If I had 45 minutes I could go for a serious Jackie Warner workout, but if I only had 5 or 10 I could find a quick body-sculpting workout or take those few minutes to target a specific area. It was amazing!
The best part? I could mix it up all. the. time. No counting beads of sweat; changing up my workouts incorporated an element of surprise—and that element of surprise means the workout goes by quickly. Plus ExerciseTV is always changing its lineup and introducing new workouts.
If sick kids (or a broken treadmill and no double stroller) have you stuck at home, check out ExerciseTV. Who knew On Demand would have the perfect solution to fitting in fitness, whether it’s 5 minutes or 50 minutes, at home!
