Anne Frank’s Legacy Continues

By Maggie W., New Miss Media Girl Scout

Last spring our troop visited the “National Anne Frank Exhibit” at the Salt Lake City downtown library; it is an experience I will not soon forget. This exhibit was in honor of the girl leader Anne Frank.

Anne Frank is a leader to me because she shows that when everything seems hopeless you can survive and even be happy. She shows that you can find things to look forward to; you can find hope. After I read the Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl and visited the exhibit I know she was very brave yet troubled and scared during the time of the Holocaust.

It is fun to read the same book as the other girls in my troop because we can talk about what we are reading and it makes me read books that I would not pick out on my own. The next book our troop is reading is The Omnivore’s Dilemma for Kids: The Secret Behind What You Eat by Michael Pollan.
