Seminar: Preparing for Healthy Intimacy in a Sexually Toxic Culture
January 15 from 7 – 9 p.m.: Grande Ballroom Student Center, UVU, Orem, UT
This seminar for young adults will be taught by Jill Manning, Ph.D., author of What’s the Big Deal About Pornography, and Dan Gray, a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in counseling those dealing with pornography addiction. Admission is free.
BYU Winterfest
January 21—February 19: Conference Center Theater, SLC, UT
Winterfest 2011 is bringing nationally and internationally acclaimed BYU performing groups to Salt Lake City. Audiences will witness unique, stirring performances by BYU’s Wind Symphony and Chamber Orchestra, the Ballroom Dance Company, Vocal Point, Living Legends and the International Folk Dance Ensemble. Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra Auditions
The Timpanogos Symphony Orchestra, located in Utah County, is now seeking musicians. In its inaugural season, the TSO is led by John Pew, formerly of the Temple Hill Symphony Orchestra in Oakland, California. The first performances will take place on April 8 and 9, 2011, and will feature guest artist Jeffrey Shumway, chair of the piano faculty at BYU, playing the Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto No. 2. Musicians are warmly invited to audition. The orchestra has openings in all sections. The Gospel Blesses My Life Exhibit
January 7 – July 4: Church History Museum, SLC, UT
Through art, children from forty-two countries share how knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed their lives. “Reflections of Christ” art exhibit
January 7- April: The Idaho Falls Temple Visitors Center
This traveling exhibit continues to move about the country reminding everyone who visits to ponder the reality of Jesus Christ’s Ministry. Feel the emotion of the musicians and view the entire “making of” documentary with commentary from the creators. This exhibit is open daily and is free.
