Okay, so you’re strolling along life’s highway, minding your own business when Heavenly Father/Fate/Karma/Evil Dogs Who Live In The Forest slaps you on the back of the head and tells you to PAY ATTENTION.
The Todd and I never planned on extending our family. Ten days ago we were presented with the choice of adopting a daughter from the most loving, courageous and unselfish young woman. Since I was out for the first three days of my twin sons’ birth (Editor’s note: see “Making Bargains With God”) it was wonderful to be present at the birth of at least one of my kids. Our Baby Mama endured two days of labor and almost three hours of pushing to safely deliver beautiful Zoe from her delicate, tiny, teenage body. This is a gift we can never repay. We can’t imagine how we ever survived without this little 5 day old miracle.
However, the last 10 days have been fraught with a wild, careening rollercoaster of emotion, and “That Went Well” and “Deals and Steals” on Utah Mama have suffered. (As I’m sure you’ve noticed.) Please forgive me and know that the absence was for the very best of reasons. I’m back, all the goodies and bargains return, and if you happen to see a boatload of baby deals or I burst into happy tears for no reason, just look away, okay?
And please. Welcome our beautiful new daughter Zoe Collard. Isn’t she amazing?
