I am a mother to two awesome kids, and have been married to my favorite hubby (okay, my only hubby, but still my favorite!) since October 1999. Our favorite thing to do is get out of the house and find adventures! I am the founder and creator of Enjoy Utah!, a site dedicated to helping families get out of the house and see all that Utah has to offer! I contribute as a blog writer for the Salt Lake Visitors Bureau, and also write CityGuides for SheKnows.com.. I am excited to be a part of Today's Mama! I co-own a DJ Business with my hubby, and also do the online marketing and manage the blog and social media for Gines Auto Service.

Join Me As I Visit A Utah Ghost Town!

Next week, on Wednesday July 6th, I will be visiting a few ghost towns and historical sites in Tooele County, and would love for you to join me! This is a free adventure, and all you need to bring is your vehicle full of gas, a sack lunch for each person in your group, and your camera ready to take some awesome pictures! (An iPod loaded with great music for the ride is also a bonus!)

As part of my Summer Adventure Series, we will be visiting the historic Stockton Jail, then over to Ophir Ghost Town, then finish our day out at the Mercur Cemetery.

All of these places are located south of Tooele. You do not need four wheel drive to reach any of these destinations. Any vehicle that will start when you turn the key will be able to make it on this adventure! (Okay, okay, of course you also need to make sure your tires are inflated, oil is checked, windshield washer fluid is full, etc! Growing up as the daughter of a mechanic, I had to add this in, or I wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight!)

We will meet at the McDonalds in Tooele at 10am. From there we will head over to the Stockton Jail, take a few pictures, then head over to Ophir. Ophir is where we will spend a few hours and eat lunch. After touring their visitors center, we will travel a little bit further south to the Mercur Cemetery. I am estimating that the entire adventure will end approximately 4pm.

This adventure is weather permitting, so stay tuned to Enjoy Utah! for complete up to date details.

You can also view tips for this adventure on Enjoy Utah!.

Anybody and everybody is invited! Send the facebook invite to all your friends, and have them join us!

See you there! These are three of my favorite places to visit and take pictures, and I am super excited to take you on a tour!

I was wondering if you are going to any other ghost towns. I used to go to old ghost towns with my parents growing up. Fun stuff!!

Yes, we hope to visit some more ghost towns! I live in SLC, and am trying to find time to visit more over the summer. My hubby and I own a DJ company, and summer and fall is so overly busy with weddings, so our weekends are already booked until end of October/beginning of November. I have to do all of my “adventuring” during the week! Make sure you stay tuned to my Enjoy Utah site, as well as Today’s Mama, and I will post more adventures that we are going on. I will try to get more ghost towns scheduled in! 🙂 If you want me to send you a guide of awesome ghost towns to visit on your own, email me at michelle@enjoyutah.org

The herpes virus is surrounded by way of a lipid (fatty) coating,
which in turn causes it to come to be inactivated by soap.
