My favorite place to visit during October is Garden After Dark. My great nephew and great nieces can’t wait to go back every year. They always do a great job. I thoroughly enjoy watching the family have a great time.

My kid’s favorite places to visit on Halloween are Jaker’s Pumpkin Patch in Springville on 400 S. (tons of free fun activities) and Pumpkin Land at the Vineyard Nursery on Geneva Rd. in Orem. Both of those are a must and so much fun. We like trick or treating down Main St. in Springville & Spanish Fork and different grocery stores do fun trick or treating and activities too so we usually go to Macey’s and other ones.

We are going to try out This is the Place for the first time. I like Frightmares at Lagoon because just being there is scary (Pioneer Village feels haunted on a regular day!). My husband likes Gardner Village but I haven’t been yet.

I wish Utah had pumpkin patches like they do in upstate New York. They are the most fun!

If I don’t win tickets, where do we get $5 off? At Mountain America branches?

I love going to Gardner Village all during October to see the witches. This year we did Breakfast with a Witch and Ride to a Witch and they were both really fun.

We love the haunted woods at This is the Place Stake Park. It’s so scary (especially for my husband who screams like a girl!), but it’s not bloody and gory like so many these days. I just saw the news story about Red Butte Gardens this morning and it looks like a ton of fun. My fingers are crossed!

great to hear about the non-gory scary kinds of places. Mr D really screams? hee hee

So, my little family went out one year to the Red Barn out in the Payson area. We got to ride a wagon out to a Pumpkin Patch where we got to pick our own pumpkins. Then back at the barn they have a darling boutique to walk through and the most amazing fudge ever. It is a wonderful place to go, if you don’t mind a little drive.
We’ve never been to the Garden after Dark and would love to go explore what Red Butte has to offer.

sounds like the Red Barn knows kids and moms– pumpkin picking AND fudge with shopping.. Perfect!

Our favorite place in October is the Witches at Gardener Village and then to Arctic Circle for a “square pumpkin.” Silly in a way that we think we have to eat at Arctic Circle, but can’t break tradition!

We love Wheeler Farm and Gardner Village.

Our family loves going to Garden After Dark! We were just looking up the dates today to plan to go! I love the activities they provide for the kids – and they don’t even know their learning something. Oh and we used to go to Day Farms in Layton until we moved – a fun family owned little place that never got too crowded.
    Good luck everyone!

My kids love to rake out all the leaves from our neighbors trees and play in them. On Saturday, they made a huge “dog bed” out of the leaves and brought blankets and pillows and played for hours. Red Butte and This is the Place would be great to visit this year. My husband has a super sweet knight costume that would look great at either place….

We love to go to Gardener’s Village when the witch’s are out. My kids love to find all the witch’s on the hunt and shop around!

  15. Mattie 10/24/2011 at 6:51 pm

Any where that we can see fun decorations and we also love to play dress up when we’re trying to decide what costumes to wear.

We would really love to go to Garden After Dark r to This is the Place – we’ve been talking about doing this but haven’t been able to justify spending the money. It sounds so fun!

What do we like to do? We always visit a pumpkin patch and some kind of hay maze (there are a million of them). We like to go to the Davis County Spooktacular at the South Davis Rec Center – cheap and really fun (and over for this year). When we lived in Utah County we used to like to go to Cornbelly’s or HeeHaws. We are thinking about trying This is the Place’s Halloween dealio.

So many fun giveaways here lately – thanks!

My kids and I had a blast at Snowbird last weekend. Their fall food drive promotion got us four free day-passes to the zipline, bungee tramps, climbing wall, rope maze, and more, all for the price of four cans of food. What a deal!
