Don’t carve them all. Save one pumpkin to serve out of for Halloween dinner before they all leave for trick or treating.
Dinner in a Pumpkin
2 T soy sauce
2 T brown sugar
4 oz sliced canned mushrooms (drained)
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 1/2 c of cooked rice
8 oz of chopped water chestnuts
3 or 4 strips of crumbled, cooked bacon (or turkey bacon)
1 small pumpkin cleaned and cored
Brown onion and meat in skillet. Stir in all other ingredients and fill the hollow pumpkin with the mixture. Wrap in foil and bake at 350 for 1 hour.
Just to be awesome, you could serve this with Frankenstein Ears and Ear Wax.
Defrost frozen roll dough until soft. Mush into an “ear” shape. Fry in vegetable oil like a scone.
(Really Honey Butter from the Lion House Cookbook)
1/2 c butter
1/4 tsp vanilla
1 egg yolk
1 c honey
Whip softened butter. Add vanilla and egg yolk. Add honey gradually while whipping.
