I love Shakespeare so I have a hard time deciding on one character. Two of my faves are “Taming of the Shrew” and “Much ado about nothing”. Out of those two, I love Petruccio and the other is Bernard and Beatrice. Such wit and fun. Love it!

I learn and love Shakespeare each time I see a play. My favorite is The Merry Wives of Windsor and Falstaff. I’ve been dying to go the the Festival and even more excited for the opportunity to attend the Chidrens Festival!

A Midsummer Nights Dream and Helena are magical and mysterious. Have loved them since my childhood.

Love the Festival. Would really enjoy taking the grandkids. My favorite is Much Ado About Nothing. The banter between Beatrice and Benedick and Claudio and Hero is so entertaining.

Ive been hoping to take our daughter to the Childrens Theater for a while. She studied Twelfth Night in school this year and loved it. She wants to play Olivia.

I know she isn’t an often beloved character, but I like Cordelia from King Lear. I wrote a paper about her in college! I would love to take my girls to this. Thank you for posting this.

What first drew me into Shakespeare was actually his sonnets. I love his capacity to play with words and layer many ideas into each line made even more rich by poetic beauty. A favorite comedy would be Taming of the Shrew. For a tragedy, Hamlet.

I can’t choose a favorite character or play. What first came to my mind was ‘Much Ado About Nothing’, which is my favorite of his comedies. I love the repartee and intrigue between Beatrice and Benedick, and the richness of their characters. She and Kate are among my favorites of his comedic heroines. However, I am fascinated by some of his other women, chiefly Marguerite D’Anjou (who is a major but relatively unknown character in ‘Henry VI parts 1-3′ and ‘Richard III’) and Lady Macbeth. There are so many different dimensions in their characters, and they are both so powerful. But true favorites are really the men. Hamlet, Iago, Macbeth, Benedick, the fool in King Lear (which can really be played by either gender), Kent, Petruchio.. But if I HAD to choose a favorite character and play, the answer to both would probably be ‘Hamlet’. ;)
