Married 17 years to my accountant, keyboard playing husband. Mother to one clever 13 year old boy and two brilliant girls age 10 and 6. My third appendage is my laptop as I manage and edit my online lifestyle magazine for Southern Utah and my food blog -- Pantry Eats. I love to write about parenting, food, exploring and home and garden. I am also a gardener, a semi-decent cook (I learned to cook so late in life) a voracious reader and, like all moms, an accomplished chauffeur.

Cedar City Pumpkin Festival

I love fall and pumpkins and one of my favorite Southern Utah fall events for kids is the annual pumpkin festival happening Saturday October 13 (the only one of its kind in Southern Utah). For $5 kids can get in and participate in all of the activities which include getting your own pumpkin, face painting, pumpkin putt putt, seed spitting, fishing booths, musical hay bales, cupcake walk and more. There are going to be at least 20 booths this year. It is a blast for kids under 10. My kids have always looked forward to this event.

Perhaps the best part is that all the profit goes towards scholarships for women. The Women in Business arm of the Cedar City Chamber hosts the event as their annual fundraiser for their scholarship program.

This year I will be there helping and you will get to see me all dressed up as a scarecrow.

If you are in this neck of the woods this Saturday, bring your kids down to Main Street Park in Cedar City between 10 to 3 p.m.
