Review of Maui Bowl in Provo, Utah

I had never heard of an Acai Bowl until a few weeks ago.  I pride myself on knowing about these things, so I immediately had to try one out for myself.  Lucky for me, there is a new-ish place in Provo where I was able to feed my curiosity.

Maui Bowl opened at the beginning of the year on 900 East near the BYU campus.  I have driven by dozens and dozens of times, always curious, but always in a hurry, so I had never stopped by.  That will not be the case anymore.  I predict many, many visits in the upcoming weeks and months.

If you have never of an Acai Bowl, allow me to enlighten you about this delicious healthy breakfast (snack, lunch, or dinner.) 🙂

They start with the Brazilian superfood, acai berries.  Blended with other kinds of fruit and a splash of soy milk or juice, the acai pulp makes the base for the bowl.   There are options for add-ins like protein powders and vitamins, even peanut butter.

Then comes crunchy, nutty granola, followed by fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey.  Maui Bowl offers a few different bowls, plus an option to create your own.

One acai bowl is large enough for a few people, so it’s a fun thing to do with friends, or my preferred dining partner, my little girl.  The prices are reasonable–$5-7 for a bowl, smoothies run about $4, other menu items are also reasonably priced and affordable.

Maui Bowl has other tasty bittles like muffins, bagels, salads and wraps.  That’s good because they are located next to Gold’s Gym, making it the perfect place to recharge after a good workout, I should think.

Another big plus is the free wifi you can enjoy while you lounge and relax on their couches.

I swear that couch is right out of my BYU apartment from 6-7 years ago! That looks like such a fun place. Thanks for sharing

I love acai anything. The first time I’d ever tried it was at the pool at the Grand America many years ago. It was served to the guests as a sorbet. I’ve loved it since. This looks like a great place. Thanks for the review!

Those look so good! I’m going to have to see if they have one in SLC.
