Utah events worth visiting January 21-26

Check out what’s going on this week.

Murray High School is hosting a Martin Luther King Concert, Monday, January 21st at 7:00pm at the high school.  The event is free.

It’s the last week to see Da Vinci- The Genius Exhibit at The Leonardo.  My boys (7 & 9) have been slightly obsessed with Leonardo DaVinci from a very young age. They were enthralled with all the ideas that Da Vinci had, especially the gun and tank.  My 9 year old loved the Mona Lisa exhibit, specifically the different colors and textures that were tried out.

My 7 year old (my little scientist) thought Da Vinci’s ideas on how to build a bike, diving suit (swimsuit as he called it) and the draw bridge were cool.

The exhibit exceeded our expectations and enabled us to give our kids an experience we would not otherwise be able to have unless we visited Europe.  Admission for our family was compensated, but we would have gladly paid admission now knowing how great the exhibit was.  I would say the exhibit is for older children and is hands off (no touching allowed).  The exhibit ends January 27th.  The price for tickets are 19.50 for adults, 17.50 for youth (ages 13-17), and 15.50 for children (ages 3-12).  Admission is for The Leonardo museum and the Da Vinci Exhibit.

Utah Nordic is offering free adult cross-country ski lessons at Mountain Dell.  I have always wanted to learn and with an offer like this there is no excuse.

The lessons are scheduled for Saturday, January 26th from 11:00 am- 1:00pm.

The DNR is hosting  a Rockin’ Sunset Hike at Antelope Island, Saturday, January 26th at 4:30.  Enjoy the breathtaking sunset and learn about desert habitat.
