Set in the GORGEOUS Wasatch State Mountains is a little town by the name of Midway.
We’ve all heard of it, but have you really been able to experience what this little bit of Switzerland has to offer.
The beauty is surreal and the feel nostalgic. Taking me back to the day I was able to roam Switzerland.
We were fortunate enough to stay a week at the Zermatt Resort and take in all this lovely little town has to offer.
The Wasatch State Park, 1 mile from the Zermatt Resort offers many opportunities to play.
From geocaching, our first time and a favorite!
To fishing, we were able to rent fishing poles from the visitors center for 3.00/pole.
To hiking, which we ran out of time for and were sorely disappointed. There are so many great activities to experience!!
We took advantage of the GREAT amenities at Zermatt which included swimming,
riding the carousel (which may be the cutest carousel I have ever seen),
to playing chess and tennis.
They really do have it all, including there very own pet fish and goats!
We love exploring and finding new places, this is what we found…
There is something so fascinating about a train and its tracks. To think of how trains got started, how they were used, and the fact that they are still used today is astonishing.
We stumbled upon the Wasatch County Memorial Hill Veterans Monument commemorating all that have fought in wars that live in the city. It was neat to explain to my boys what the memorial was and to see all the different wars soldiers have fought in for us. As an added bonus it has the most AMAZING views of the city!
Our tummies were a grumbling so we headed to The Store on main street where they have the best little pizza joint located inside their store. I’m telling you the best margarita pizza I’ve had since Italy.
The following day we found a skate park and since it’s been on our summer bucket list for the last couple summers we thought we’d give it a go! The boys were a bit timid at first, but quickly got the hang of it and had a BLAST. We ended our stay with a little fresh-Mex at Tarahumara. The Ceviche and Shrimp Mango Salad are to DIE for!
The only activity we didn’t get to do was paddle boarding in Deer Creek State Park. You can rent boards right down by the beach. If you haven’t had your hand at paddle boarding, try and you’ll soon be an addict!
Get out and explore!
