We are slightly obsessed with Halloween, maybe because we consist of mostly boys, but nevertheless we love it! The scarier the better…to a certain extent. We are not hitting the haunted houses by any means, but enjoy putting on our own haunted forest or haunted dungeon. We have been lucky enough to visit quite a few venues and year after year they continue to be our favorites!
Spooky Science @ The Leonardo is new this year, but well worth the visit.
They did an amazing job combining the teaching with the fun! We liked the phobia wall and testing how scary a scream is.
We learned about shadows and went crazy for the dome of electricity! The only problem was that we wanted more.
I was a bit obsessed with the laboratory, the staging was magnificent! If anything go to take pictures!!
Spooky Science runs till October 31st. Tickets range from $9 for adults, $8 for kids 12-17, $7 for kids 6-11, and FREE for kids 5 and under.
Cornbelly’s at Thanksgiving Point is always on our list.
The thing I love is that there is something for everyone, plus you totally get your money’s worth. We could have spent another 3 hours there. The jumping pillow and corn blaster is a fav by all, while my big boys get up the courage to go through THE CREATURE.
My 5 year old is obsessed with the wooden playgrounds and my sassy 4 year old loves princess play land. Definitely, fun for all! Check Cornbelly’s for times they are open. Rates Mon-Thurs are $8.95 and Fri-Sat are 10.95 for 3-99, 2 and under are FREE.
Garden After Dark at Red Butte Garden was one of our first Halloween events we took our boys to when they were just 2 & 4.
We love being in the garden, walking along the paths, searching for clues and scaring each other. The garden is the perfect setting for a Halloween activity. As if the garden is not enough they provide some of the cutest, educational crafts that my little ones cherish. Garden After Dark is open October 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26 from 6:00-9:00 pm. Tickets run $12, 2 and under are free. If you are a Garden member tickets are $6.
Little Haunts @ This is the Place could possibly be my favorite of all.
I LOVE how quaint and old everything is. I LOVE watching my little ones trick or treat at the old pioneer homes.
My big boys love the candy cannon and crafts, while my little guy can’t wait to get on the train and eat all his candy.
My little dolly girl is content riding the horses and taking it all in. Make sure to wear your costume for the Costume Parade led by the witch. Little Haunts is open October 17, 18, 19, & 26 and costs $10 for adults, $7 for children 3-11 and 2 and under are free.
A Superhero Halloween with the Utah Symphony is new for us this year. We have heard INCREDIBLE things and can’t wait to give it a try. This year’s theme is Superheroes with music from Batman, Superman, X-Men, and Star Wars, my boys might just freak out!! Plus this event hosts the largest costume contest in Utah, how FUN!! A Superhero Halloween is sadly one night Tuesday, October 29th at 7. The costume contest is from 5:30 to 6:30. Tickets range from $8-20.
As an added bonus, we have tickets to giveaway to Cornbelly’s, Garden After Dark, Little Haunts, and A Superhero Halloween. Leave a comment and you’ll be entered to win. Good Luck!!
